Luo Shiwen: "The mood is still calm. I hope you will take care of yourselves and struggle"

Statues of Luo Shiwen and Che Yaoxian in the Songlin Slope Ruins of Geleshan

The letter sent by Luo Shiwen to the party organization before his execution is on display at the scene of "raising the banner to help the common people live-Luo Shiwen and Che Yaoxian's deeds exhibition.
On the afternoon of August 18, 1946, in the Songlinpo Dai Gongci parking lot in the Chongqing concentration camp, an American jeep came from the bottom of the mountain and stopped abruptly in the parking lot. Several armed spies dragged two handcuffed men from the car, both dressed in old yellow uniforms, one with glasses and the other with a cane.
The glasses wearers looked around at the pines, suddenly laughed, then chanted loudly, and those on crutches also shouted "Long live the Communist Party of China!" Slogans, chanting and slogans resounded through the silent Pine Forest Slope, and the spies were horrified at the sound. With several flustered and dull gunshots, the two staggered and fell down......
"The person wearing glasses is Luo Shiwen, who once served as the propaganda minister of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the secretary of the provincial party committee, the director of the office of the 18th Group Army in Chengdu and the head of the Chengdu branch of Xinhua Daily. He and Che Yaoxian were secretly executed by secret agents." On the morning of July 2, standing in front of the statue of the martyr Luo Shiwen in the Songlinpo site group of Geleshan, Wang Hao, deputy research librarian of the Cultural Museum of Chongqing Hongyan Lianxian Cultural Development Management Center, told a reporter from Chongqing Daily.
Will transfer the opportunity to others, oneself unfortunately arrested
Luo Shiwen, who was born in Weiyuan, Sichuan, joined the Communist Party of China in 1925. In the autumn of 1937, Luo Shiwen came to Chongqing from Yan'an to lead the anti-Japanese national salvation movement in Chongqing and be responsible for the united front work. "From 1937 to 1940, under the guidance of the Southern Bureau, the Chuankang Special Committee and the Chuandong Special Committee, and the promotion of the national anti-Japanese trend, under the leadership of Luo Shiwen and others, the anti-Japanese democratic forces in Sichuan not only grew rapidly, but also the party's organization. It has also been further developed." Wang Hao said.
On March 14, 1940, in order to crack down on the persecution of the Communist Party of Chengdu, the chief of the military spy Kang Ze and others planned the "rice snatching incident" in Chengdu, and later published an article entitled "The Communist Party incited the hungry to rob rice", adding the charge of "sabotaging the war of resistance" to the Communist Party of China, and wantonly arrested progressive people ...... For a while, revolutionary activities in Sichuan fell into a low tide.
"As a revolutionary leader in Sichuan, Luo Shiwen was naturally the target of the Kuomintang reactionaries, but he could have escaped the Kuomintang's round-up." Wang Hao said that on March 16, the Communist Party members who broke into the enemy's interior sent out information that the enemy's blacklist named Luo Shiwen and other comrades to be arrested. That night, Zhou Fengping, deputy secretary of Chuankang Special Committee, also said that in view of the critical situation at that time, Luo Shiwen was advised to move to the countryside for a period of time.
"Even so, Luo Shiwen is still unmoved." Wang Hao said that Luo Shiwen gave the transfer opportunity to others on the grounds that he was an open representative of the Communist Party of China, and he chose to stay in Chengdu and work until he was arrested on March 18.
"For the cause of the party, Luo Shiwen knew that staying and persisting in the struggle would be arrested and sacrificed, but he resolutely chose to stay. In this regard, Luo Shiwen undoubtedly set an example for party members in the new era." Li Yu, director of the Party History Research Office of the Municipal Party Committee, said that in the new era, only when the majority of party members do not forget their original aspirations, keep their mission in mind, and have the courage to take responsibility, can they make achievements that are beneficial to the party and the people, and can inspire hundreds of millions of people to continue their struggle and complete the new era. The historical mission of the party.
Set up a party branch in prison to continuously expand the team
At the scene of "raising the flag to help the common people-Luo Shiwen and Che Yaoxian's deeds Exhibition", the reporter saw some works created by Luo Shiwen in prison, but the signatures of these articles are all "history fans".
"'History fan' is the pen name Luo Shiwen used when writing in prison." Wang Hao introduced that after Luo Shiwen was arrested, the Kuomintang immediately transferred him to Baigongguan Prison, hoping to learn from him the secrets of the Sichuan Party organization of the Communist Party of China. But what the spies didn't expect was that even Dai Li, the chief of the spies, could not get any information from Luo Shiwen.
Subsequently, Dai Li and others sent a big spy Deng Wenyi (Luo Shiwen's classmate when he was staying in Su) to recruit surrender. Facing his former classmates, Luo Shiwen was still unmoved. He reprimanded Deng Wenyi loudly: "If the Kuomintang also puts the survival of 400 million people first, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party will cooperate. What am I to surrender?"
"While refusing the recruitment of secret agents, Luo Shiwen also made full use of the conditions in the prison to carry out propaganda work." Wang Hao said that since he was transferred to Xifeng prison in Guizhou in the second half of 1940, Luo Shiwen not only secretly told the comrades in the same prison about the international and domestic situation, but also published articles in Resurrection Weekly and Yangzheng Weekly founded in prison, analyzing the situation of the second World War, exposing the crimes of German, Italian and Japanese fascists, and praising the exploits of the Soviet Red Army, as well as the truth that democracy and the people will win and fascism will be defeated, it will inspire the fighting spirit of the needy and strengthen the confidence of the needy.
Not only that, Luo Shiwen, together with Che Yaoxian, Han Zidong, Xu Xiaoxuan and other comrades, set up a temporary party branch in Xifeng Prison to unite and lead revolutionary comrades in the struggle. "After the establishment of the Party branch, it not only won the right to walk, bask in the sun, read books and read newspapers for the needy friends, but also expanded the organization by participating in production." Wang Hao said.
Do not forget your initiative mind, pay the last membership fee before justice
At the scene of "raising the flag to save the common people-Luo Shiwen and Che Yaoxian's deeds exhibition", there is a title page of a Russian document, which reads: "It is said that we will be escorted to Nanjing, maybe it will be a lot of luck! In the face of all difficulties, we must raise our flag! Lao Song has ten thousand yuan left, and we hope you can share it with us. I hope you take care of your heart and strive......"
"This is a letter Luo Shiwen wrote to the party organization before he was sentenced, and that 10,000 yuan was the last party dues Luo Shiwen paid." Wang Hao said.
The time went back to August 18, 1946. In the Zhazidong Prison, a spy with two plane tickets said to Luo Shiwen and Che Yaoxian, "Congratulations to Mr. Zhang and Mr. Tian! After receiving the order from Feng, you two will move to Nanjing immediately. Generalissimo Chiang will summon you and then you will be free!"
Wang Hao introduced that during the Chongqing negotiations, Mao Zedong once asked Chiang Kai-shek to release Luo Shiwen, Che Yaoxian, Yang Hucheng and others by name. In order to hide the public's eyes, Chiang Kai-shek declared that Luo Shiwen and others had been executed, while he secretly ordered Dai Li to change Luo Shiwen and Che Yaoxian to the pseudonyms of Zhang Shiying and Tian Guangzu to isolate their contact with the outside world.
In June 1946, with the support of US imperialism, Chiang Kai-shek brazenly tore up the "Armistice Agreement" and the CPPCC resolution and launched a full-scale attack on the liberated areas. At the same time, in the Kuomintang-controlled areas, Chiang Kai-shek decided to strengthen the fascist dictatorship by secretly executing Luo Shiwen and others.
"In fact, as early as a few days before the enemy started, Luo Shiwen realized that Chiang Kai-shek wanted to attack himself by virtue of his political acumen formed in the long-term underground struggle." Wang Hao said that when death really came, Luo Shiwen seemed very calm. After he took the ticket from the spy, he immediately tore a page from a Russian book and wrote down the paragraph above.
"The spirit of the revolutionary martyrs' determination to face all difficulties and hold high our banner is also the spirit that our party members, cadres and the people need to learn and carry forward, face difficulties, persevere, face adversity, and never give up." Wang Hao said.
