Tianjin Research Institute for Advanced Equipment, Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as “THTI”) focuses on four strategic domains, leveraging its collaborative innovation advantages in production, academia, and research. Utilizing the resources available in Tianjin and Dongli District, it undertakes the internal commercialization of scientific and technological achievements from Tsinghua University and the Institute itself. Through professional, market-oriented, and standardized management, THTI capitalizes on historical opportunities for industrial upgrading, technology and mechanism innovation, and industry consolidation. This effort has nurtured a selection of high-end products and industries, thus establishing a new industrial advantage.
Upholding the principle of "Tsinghua Technology Serves Society," THTI organizes collaborations with experts and scholars across various manufacturing sectors, along with industry leaders and technical elites. Grounded in Tianjin but extending nationally and internationally, it promotes advancements in the science and technology of high-end equipment manufacturing through educational forums, talent services, technological exchanges, and project collaborations. THTI facilitates the dissemination and adoption of new technologies, aids in industrial upgrading and corporate transformation, and vigorously supports the implementation of China’s strategy to become a manufacturing powerhouse. It aims to create an exemplary platform for industry-academia-research collaboration that fosters the conversion of technological achievements, promotes independent innovation, nurtures innovative talent, and incubates manufacturing enterprises.
In addition, it strives to disseminate technological knowledge within the equipment manufacturing industry, propagate scientific ideas and methodologies, and promote advanced technologies. THTI engages in technical exchanges, promotion, consulting, and services within the equipment manufacturing domain, and facilitates academic exchanges and cooperation among relevant organizations both domestically and internationally. It organizes exhibitions, technical seminars, and academic conferences, and builds a comprehensive talent assessment and standards system for high-end equipment manufacturing. THTI also focuses on cultivating senior management, technical experts, and training instructors in the equipment manufacturing sector while aggregating high-level talent resources to establish a specialized talent pool for China's high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
