Student Science-oriented Innovation Practice Base of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tsinghua University
Established on December 1, 2022, Student Science-oriented Innovation Practice Base of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as the Base) is committed to growing into a cradle for high-end innovative and entrepreneurial talents in the field of artificial intelligence, and to promoting industrial innovation and social progress through educational innovation. Based on the principle of orientation towards talent training demands, the Base pools its resources to create an open-end and high-level practice platform, which will undertake various tasks including student science-oriented innovation, industry-education integration enterprise project, talent selection discipline camp and sci-tech competition. The Base aims to explore innovative talent training model, with a view to better supporting talent selection and training of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Tsinghua University, then to promoting the higher learning institution’s ability in serving society.
To reconstruct the talent training and innovation ability mechanism in the field of artificial intelligence and build an innovation ecosystem from talent training to investment in the new era, the Base organized to implement the enterprise-centered practice courses of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Tsinghua University, and planned and executed the design and operation maintenance of the "Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup Tianjin International Invitational Tournament". Also, it organized the discipline camp activities for middle school students in the "Tsinghua University Science and Engineering Challenge", and worked with the Department of Mechanical Engineering to develop new competition events. In addition, the Base will participate in other talent training projects of the Experimental Center of the Department of Mechanical Engineering to ensure the improvement of students' practical skills and innovation ability in multiple respects.
