As one of the robotics competitions with the greatest influence and the highest comprehensive technical level for college students and graduate students in my country, it is committed to promoting the development of robotics-related disciplines, especially automation, robotics, artificial intelligence and other disciplines. The competition is sponsored by the Chinese Society of Automation and organized by Chinese university professors and scholars working in the RoboCup International Federation. The consultants of the competition are composed of more than a dozen well-known academicians and experts in the field of automation. With the help of the Chinese Society of Automation in automation, robotics and artificial intelligence With strong influence and professional strength in the field, the technical and academic level of the competition has been widely recognized by universities. The competition system is held once a year and has been successfully held for 22 sessions.

In 2016, taking into account the scale of the event and the reception capacity of the organizer, the "China Robot Competition" and the "RoboCup Robot World Cup China Competition" were split and held. The "China Robot Competition" was used as a qualifier for the "RoboCup Robot World Cup China Competition". Held at different times and places in the same year.
