The Robot World Cup is currently the highest-level, largest and most influential robot event in the world. It is hosted by the RoboCup International Federation. The main purpose of the RoboCup is to promote the research and development of MAS(Multi-Agent System) and DAI(Distributed Artificial Intelligence) by providing a standard and easy-to-evaluate competition platform. The ultimate goal is to enable the robot football team to defeat the human football champion team after about 50 years of research. The Robotics World Cup combines rich academic seminars, industrial and robotics exhibitions and world-class robotics competitions. In the past 20 years, it has led the development of artificial intelligence, robotics science and robotics education.

Since the first robot competition was successfully held in Nagoya, Japan in 1997, it has been held in more than ten countries and regions, including France, Sweden, Australia, the United States, Germany, South Korea, Italy, Portugal, China, Austria, Singapore, the Netherlands, Brazil and Canada.
