Wu Wenbin: Earthquake Relief Hero Warrior
In the past few days, a synthetic brigade of the 82nd Army of the Army has focused on epidemic prevention and control on the one hand, and training and preparation for war on the other, minimizing the impact of the epidemic on military training, and striving to achieve "both training and preparation for war and epidemic prevention and control".
Zhang Zhaoliang, deputy company commander who once won third-class merit in cross-regional joint exercises, said: "It is the deeds of the old squad leader Wu Wenbin that continue to inspire us to move forward."
In 2008, the predecessor of this brigade, the former "Ye Ting Independent Regiment" of the Jinan Military Region, went to Dujiangyan, Sichuan to participate in earthquake relief. 26-year-old non-commissioned officer Wu Wenbin continued to fight, due to overwork in the earthquake relief line.
Today, Wu Wenbin's company selects "Learning from Wu Wenbin's Model Soldier" every week and "Wu Wenbin's Outstanding Communist Party Member" every month ". Every year on important days such as Ching Ming Festival and Wu Wenbin's sacrifice anniversary, the company organizes officers and soldiers to review the oath of joining the party, watch the film "Iron Warrior Wu Wenbin", cherish the memory of heroes, and inspire fighting spirit.
Wu Wenbin was born in a martial rural family in Dengzhou City, Henan Province. From an early age, he was full of yearning for the military camp. When he graduated in Senior high school, he was admitted to a university in Henan, majoring in mechatronics, but he resolutely chose to be in the army.
After enlisting in the army, Wu Wenbin was assigned to the second company of the first Battalion of the former "Ye Ting Independent Regiment" of the Jinan military region, which was also the company where the "22 Warriors of the Luding Bridge" emerged during the Red Army's long March.
Wu Wenbin worked hard to practice military skills, study military knowledge, learn science and culture, and aspire to become the best soldier.
In the professional assessment in May 2003, Wu Wenbin, who had only received 3 months of training, mastered all the basic exercises of the gunner major. In the subsequent "Iron Army Cup" military competition of the whole regiment, he won the first place in the "Gunner Quick Aim Course.
May 29 is the "anniversary of the victory of the Luding Bridge" and the day when the "Red Second Company" launched the "Twenty-Two Warriors in the New Era" selection activity.
Since the launch of the activity, all the elected "warriors" were veterans, until this history was rewritten by Wu Wenbin. In 2003, Wu Wenbin, a new recruit, became the first "22 warriors of the new era" elected with half a year of military service in the company's history ".
In July 2005, Wu Wenbin was admitted to the non-commissioned officer junior college class of the School of Surveying and Mapping of the PLA Information Engineering University with the first place in the whole regiment, fulfilling his military academy dream.
In the early morning of May 13, 2008, Wu Wenbin's unit received an order to urgently go to the Sichuan earthquake-stricken area to perform earthquake relief missions. Wu Wenbin, who was originally arranged by the company to stay behind, took the initiative to ask for war and went to the disaster area.
After arriving in the disaster area, Wu Wenbin and his comrades have always been fighting in the front line of earthquake relief. When the masses were transferred, he walked in the front with his back on his shoulder; when he searched and rescued the crashed plane, he did not fear hardships and dangers, and rolled down the hillside three times; after the disaster, he did the work of several people by himself, and his body was scratched in many places. But he has been sweating and fighting hard, working hard, never shouting a bitter and tired.
In the process of carrying out the task, Wu Wenbin always insisted on the most bitter and tiring front line of the battle, and was called "the screwdriver that can't be screwed" by his comrades in arms ".
On June 9, the company was ordered to help the people in the disaster area install the bed. Wu Wenbin rushed to undertake the heavy task of screwing. When his gloves were worn out, he began to "work with bare hands", and his hands were covered with blood blisters. His comrades in arms asked him to rest. He said, "it doesn't matter. If we pack the bed one minute earlier, the masses will suffer less for one minute."
At the end of the day, more than 800 sets of board beds were installed in the whole company. Wu Wenbin installed more than 50 sets and screwed more than 1400 screws alone. When his comrade-in-arms asked him why he was working so fast, he raised his hand with blood blisters and said proudly: "Look, our Iron Army has two iron hands!"
On the evening of June 17, Wu Wenbin and his comrades, who had been tired for several days, performed the task of unloading the movable board house again. After the task was completed, he gave up his rest time and went to help other platoon comrades unload their cars. At about 9 o'clock that night, Wu Wenbin suffered from pulmonary hemorrhage due to overwork and died gloriously after the rescue failed.
This day, from Wu Wenbin to get a college diploma, only 12 days.
This year, he was awarded the honorary title of "Earthquake Relief Hero Warrior" by the Central Military Commission.
People will always remember this soldier--
"When the mountain fell and the ground cracked, the green camouflage held up the hope of life. He set up the flag, but he fell quietly. Under the black background of the disaster, his 26-year-old youth was the brightest beam of light."
