Clinical manifestations of AD patients
 
mild dementia stage
It is characterized by memory loss, oblivion of recent events, decreased judgment ability, less verbal vocabulary and difficulty in naming.
 
moderate dementia stage
Far and near memory is severely impaired, and the visual spatial ability of simple structures is reduced; calculation is impossible; Aphasia, apraxia, and agnosia are visible.
 
severe dementia stage
Completely dependent on caregivers, with only fragments of memory; unable to take care of themselves in daily life; primitive reflexes such as strong grip, groping and sucking.
 
In recent years, many breakthroughs have been made in the pathogenesis of AD, and many hypotheses have been proposed, such as Aβ cascade theory, oxidative stress theory, Tau protein theory, central cholinergic nerve injury theory, genetic factors theory, chronic inflammation theory, excitatory amino acid toxicity theory.
 
However, so far, the most important thing is the Aβ cascade theory: abnormal secretion of Aβ and its oligomers → irreversible dense senile plaques → metabolic disorder of neurons → disruption of ion balance inside and outside the membrane leading to abnormal phosphorylation and distribution of Tau protein → formation of neurofibrillary tangles → neuronal apoptosis → finally inducing hippocampal synaptic plasticity impairment → cognitive and learning and memory function decline.
 

Alzheimer's pathology model based on experimental evidence
 
The previous study of the Institute of Biomedicine in our hospital found that the level of Aβ is directly related to the distribution and status of cerebrospinal fluid. Direct injection of cerebrospinal fluid from the fourth ventricle into the lateral ventricle can reduce the level of Aβ in neurons in this area and improve the lesion. The relative position of the fourth ventricle and the lateral ventricle is physically changed, which can promote the exchange of cerebrospinal fluid in the region, reduce the level of Aβ in hippocampal neurons, and improve the phenotype of Alzheimer's disease.

Based on the above research, the Institute of Biomedicine designed and developed a brain-building instrument. The brain-strengthening instrument is an adjustable reciprocating auxiliary motion device with cervical spine as the axis. At the same time, there are transcranial magnetic stimulation (adjustable intensity) and far-infrared wavelength temperature therapy (adjustable temperature) with specific frequency at the head cushion.
