Xie Juezai is willing to be a "Jiao Guan"

Throughout his life, Xie Juezai did not seek personal gain, was honest in performing his duties, worked hard and plain, and was willing to be a public servant of the people.

After the founding of New China, Xie Zigu and Xie Lianbo, who had been separated from Xie Juezai for many years, wanted to visit their father in Beijing from their hometown of Hunan. On January 21, 1950, Xie Juezai said in a letter to them: "It is common for a son to see his father, and the father also wants to see his son." But you have to wait, because at this time "you are very poor" and "it is not easy to raise travel expenses". When you come to Beijing, "it is also a trouble for me to make food for you". After the autumn harvest, the situation is better, and it is not too late to come again. Xie Juezai also said with earnest words and earnest words: "You will say that I am a 'Jiao Guan'. Yes, 'official' instead of 'Jiao, 'the world is in chaos, 'official' and 'Jiao,' turning chaos into peace." He expressed his ambition with a poem: "You say that I am a high-ranking official, and I am like Zhou Laocuan (a great old official with a great talent). I get up early and sleep late, and I feel at ease if I can do more." The so-called "Jiao Guan" means an official who does not earn money. And "Zhou Laoguan" is a hardworking and capable farmhand in Xie Juezai's hometown. He not only said that he was a "Jiao Guan", but also compared himself to an ordinary farmer, which shows Xie Juezai's good intentions.

In a letter to Xie Zigu and Xie Lianbo, Xie Juezai also had a "vaccination" in advance and said to them: "There is no way to listen to a free ride, because anyone who takes a car has to buy a ticket." Xie Juezai paid great attention to such signs and explained them in many letters to prevent them from getting worse. On March 28, 1952, Xie Juezai sent a letter to his nephew's son-in-law Wu Qifan, pointing out that in his letter, "some words are smart, and some must be considered, such as the opportunity to study in Beijing". Why? Because "study is necessary, in addition to daily study, there can be a short period of study away from work", but "the opportunities are bound to be more, in the province or county, not in Beijing". it is worth mentioning that xie juezai may have said at the end of the letter to take care of his relatives' emotions, "it is up to you to come to beijing for fun. we have no holidays, and it is the same at any time." On March 29, 1960, when Xie Juezai wrote to his daughter Xie Qunying and others, when talking about the transfer of his grandson Jiang Zhong, he made it clear: "I don't know whether it is adjustable or not, if it is adjustable, Jiang Zhong can request it himself, if it is not adjustable, then other people's words are empty. Don't think that people with high status can say love, this is the habit of the old society, and has long gone."

Xie Juezai has always been firmly opposed to some unhealthy tendencies in society. On January 20, 1961, when he wrote to Xie Lianbo and Xie Zigu, he mentioned that he received special hospitality when he returned to his hometown in January 1960. He still said angrily: "Why did I run away after only two hours in Nanfu Chong? Because I was forced to run. Overnight from Tan Jiawan to build a road to my house to take a car, why? The wooden bridge in Duizi Mountain is gone, and it is not repaired (the bridge that heard the mouth of the house is also gone), but a bridge that crosses the car is rushed to be repaired-the rising water will be washed away. There were several waiters in white standing in the room. I don't know where I learned them. There are many people standing in the courtyard, but none of them belong to the neighbors."
