The first "August 1st" Army Day celebration
On July 30, 1933, the first "August 1" Army Day celebration began. That night, the workers' and peasants' drama club held a party to commemorate the "August 1. In anticipation of the inevitable large number of people, the Workers' and Peasants' Drama Society issued admission tickets to maintain order at the venue. But by 5 p.m., the audience flooded in, and some people without tickets "even smuggled out the used admission tickets from the flower window hole, which shows the enthusiasm of the audience."
At 4 o'clock in the morning on August 1, the Central Revolutionary Military Commission held a military parade. "Red China" reported the scene at the time said: "On that day, there were torches everywhere. A basin, our artillery field, shines brightly with countless torches as bright as thousands of candlelight. From all sides, along the river, according to Tianqian, our team came quietly. Although in the dark, still walk very fast, very calm, like a tank-like invincible technology, is our red warrior night march specialty. It was only about 4 o'clock in the morning, when the east only showed the color of the fish belly, and our military parade began". The troops, the Red Guards, and the Young Pioneers lined up neatly, full of energy and high morale. The three military paraders rode their horses and inspected the Red Army queue, which was more than 600 meters long. The Red Army officers and men greeted each other with attention, cheers and slogan resounding through the sky.
Then came the speech of the parade members and the vows of the red soldiers. "The chairman read a sentence. The red warriors of the tens of thousands of people echoed, like a person." "We are the sons of the workers and peasants. We volunteered to be the Red Army, complete the tasks given to us by the Soviet Union, and fight to the end for the liberation of the workers and peasants." "We are red soldiers. We must ensure that we and our comrades absolutely abide by and obey all the laws and regulations of the Soviet Union, use our own thoughts and actions as models, work hard to learn politics and military affairs, and care for the interests of workers and peasants and our own armed forces, so that they will not suffer. Loss and theft." "We are the pillars of the Soviet Union, vowing to use our blood and flesh to develop the national revolutionary war, carry out the agrarian revolution, overthrow the Kuomintang, protect the Soviet Union, overthrow imperialism, strive for the liberation of China, armed protection of the Soviet Union to complete the revolution, and struggle for the future of socialism." "Now that the enemy is attacking on a large scale, we should unite as one, fight to the death with bayonets and guns, and exchange our brains (skull) and blood for Soviet New China." "For the sake of class interests, we abide by revolutionary discipline and obey the orders of our superiors. If we violate the rules and do not abide by them, we are willing to be punished by revolutionary discipline and are willing to listen to the rebuke of comrades."
After the sun rose, "a huge procession passed in front of the parade. The cannons, machine guns, flower organs and automatic rifles with their black-painted muzzles were exactly aimed at the imperialists and the Kuomintang. The red soldiers shouted slogans and looked at the parade members ......" The whole parade took more than an hour to end, and the soldiers' footsteps were "surging like the tide". When "the red light has shone all over the earth, the new soldiers have poured into the Red Army like a tide."
On the same day, the Red Army units greeted the first Army Day with the actual action of winning the battle: the Red Army's eastern front and southern front respectively repelled the Kuomintang army's attack, seized a large number of guns and ammunition, occupied Liancheng, and presented a "generous gift" to the "August 1" Army Day ". In addition, the Red Army School held a military sports competition to commemorate the "August 1st" on the eve of the "August 1st" Festival. The Political Security Bureau at that time and the Soviet government of Ruijin County also organized football teams to participate in the Red Army School's ball games.
