Wang Chonglun: A Man in Front of Time

Wang Chonglun, a native of Liaoyang, Liaoning, is a well-known national model worker and a member of the Communist Party of China. He was once a worker of Anshan Iron and Steel, and later served as chairman of the Anshan Iron and Steel Trade Union, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and deputy secretary of the Harbin Municipal Party Committee. During the first five-year plan of our country, we made great efforts in technological innovation and developed universal tool tires. He made a significant contribution to the production of military products to resist US aggression and aid Korea. He completed four years of work in one year and was hailed as a person ahead of time.
Wang Chonglun was born in 1927 in a poor family in rural Liaoyang, Liaoning Province. In 1942, Wang Chonglun dropped out of school and came to Anshan's steel mill as an apprentice. He was bullied and humiliated. In 1949, Anshan was liberated. Wang Chonglun looked at the devastated Angang and determined to contribute more to the construction of the new Angang. Since then, he has plunged into books and spent his spare time on the study of culture and technical knowledge, becoming one of the few young senior technicians in Angang's workforce after liberation. In 1952, Wang Chonglun's tool workshop undertook the task of processing the auxiliary fuel tank tie rod of the aircraft for the Chinese People's Volunteers. Wang Chonglun designed and manufactured a special fixture for processing the tie rod using a planer. Compared with the beginning of milling machine processing, the work efficiency is improved by 24 times, and all of them reach the first grade. In the autumn of this year, Wang Chongloriously joined the Communist Party of China.
In 1953, Wang Chonglun, as a planer in the tool workshop of Anshan Iron and Steel's northern machine repair factory, successively innovated seven kinds of workers and fixtures, invented the "universal tool tire", completed several years of production tasks in a year, stepped into 1956 ahead of schedule, and became the first front-line worker to complete the first five-year plan in the country. From then on, he was praised as "the person ahead of time". For this reason, the People's Daily published an editorial entitled "Carry forward Wang Chonglun's work spirit and complete the national plan ahead of schedule," calling on workers across the country to learn from Wang Chonglun's advanced example. In 1959, Wang Chonglun attended the National "Group of Heroes" and was once again awarded the National Advanced Producer. During the meeting, he was cordially received by party and state leaders, and Chairman Mao praised Wang Chonglun as a "role model for young people".
In the early 1960 s, the party called for "striving for strength, self-reliance, diligence and thrift". Wang Chonglun and Meng Tai, an old hero of Angang, carried out technological innovation in a poorly equipped workshop, overcame many "old, big and difficult" problems, realized more than 100 innovations, successively broke through more than a dozen important technical problems, and finally successfully trial-produced large rollers and other equipment imported in the past, it fills the blank in the history of China's metallurgy.
In 1961, Wang Chonglun was exceptionally promoted to engineer. In 1962, he was appointed deputy director of the northern machine repair plant of Angang General Machine Repair Plant. In 1975, Wang Chonglun was appointed chairman of the Angang Trade Union. In 1978, he served as the vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. In 1980, when he was the deputy secretary of the Harbin Municipal Party Committee, when he learned that it was difficult for local people to eat tofu, he traveled to 29 tofu shops in 7 urban areas for more than 40 days., Solved the problem of the city's tofu supply, and successively solved the problem of the shortage of fresh vegetables and eggs in winter. When Comrade Deng Xiaoping inspected the Northeast, he praised Wang Chonglun for "grasping tofu right and well. We should have more good cadres who can solve the livelihood of the citizens."
Wang Chonglun was awarded the title of National Advanced Producer in 1956 and 1959 respectively. He was elected as a deputy to the first and 2. 3. 4. National people's Congress, a deputy to the 12th CPC National Congress, a member of the 12th CPC Central Committee, a member of the Seventh CPPCC National Committee, director of the National staff and Workers Technical Cooperation Committee, and vice president of the China Invention Association.
On February 1, 2002, Wang Chonglun died of illness in Beijing at the age of 75.
