Fifty years ago today, the 26th session of the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 2758 by an overwhelming majority, deciding to restore all the rights of the People's Republic of China in the United Nations and recognizing the representatives of the Government of the People's Republic of China as the only legitimate representatives of China in the United Nations. This is the victory of the Chinese people, but also the victory of the people of the world!
Today, on this special day, it is meaningful for us to gather together to review history and look forward to the future.
The restoration of New China's legitimate seat in the United Nations is a major event in the world and a major event in the United Nations. This is the result of the joint efforts of all peace-loving and justice-upholding countries in the world. This marks that the Chinese people, who account for 1/4 of the world's population, have since stepped back onto the United Nations stage. International rules can only be formulated by 193 member states of the United Nations, and cannot be decided by individual countries or groups of countries. With regard to the United Nations, all countries in the world should uphold an attitude of respect, take good care of and protect this big family, and never use it if it is not, or abandon it if it is not, so that the United Nations can play a more active role in promoting the noble cause of peace and development of mankind.
