Hello everyone, I am Ji Wen from the Institute of Tool & Bearing Electromagnetic Strengthening Technology. I am from Heilongjiang, and graduated from Lanzhou University of Technology with a master's degree in materials science. I am easy-going personality, more positive music, can quickly adapt to the new environment and things.
Yes, I found your easy-going and hearty personality in some previous work docking, which makes people feel very comfortable. What was the main direction during the master's degree? And how did you decide to engage in scientific research after graduation?
The main direction during the master's degree is luminescent materials. In fact, in the master's study stage, in addition to the study of relevant knowledge, I have developed my own scientific research habits and autonomous learning ability. Well, in my opinion, the latter is actually more important, and it is precisely because of this view that I later chose to engage in scientific research.

When did you come to the research institute and join the tool institute? What kind of chance did you have?
After graduating in 2017, I went directly to the tool institute and joined the big family of the institute. At that time, by chance, my graduate student's tutor was working with Cai Zhipeng, director of the cutting tool institute, so I learned about the recruitment information of the cutting tool institute. I have always been full of yearning for Tsinghua University, and I am also looking forward to the Tianjin High-end Equipment Research Institute of Tsinghua University. I went to the interview with the idea of giving it a try. I didn't expect to become a member of the research institute. It has been four years since then, and I very much hope to be able to work in the institute all the time and contribute to the development of the institute.
I believe that the research institute will develop better and better with everyone's efforts. What were your main responsibilities when you first joined the tool house?
When I first came to the tool, I was mainly responsible for the relevant experiments and analysis of the project research. At that time, I often dealt with many testing equipment, such as scanning electron microscope, friction and wear testing machine, hardness tester, X-ray residual stress testing equipment, etc. In addition, I was also responsible for the writing of project reports and part of the reporting work. During that time, I changed my role from a student to a professional.

Now in the tool as what position? Mainly responsible for what work?
At present, I hold the post of deputy director of the tool Institute, mainly responsible for the declaration and management of scientific research projects of the Institute and the daily affairs of the Institute.
When did the work content change?
The change in work content probably started in the second half of 2018, when I began to be responsible for the horizontal projects of the institute and participated in the management of the vertical projects, and then slowly changed into the main work content now.
After more than 4 years of work experience, do you feel any changes?
This work experience has a great impact on me. This is my first job. During this period, I moved from campus to society, to the workplace, and grew up to be a workplace person. Compared with the change of environment and role, what has changed more is my thoughts and thinking. In the past few years of work, I have learned to consider and analyze problems from multiple angles, and understand the importance of taking responsibility and firm principles. The coexistence of pressure and growth has given me a very valuable time.

Is there anything you can share with us that impressed you during this precious time?
Yes, the most profound thing is to go to the enterprise for the first time to promote and test electromagnetic enhancement technology. At first, I was inexperienced and did not go smoothly. I blamed myself and began to question myself. At that time, teacher Cai not only did not blame me, but also actively encouraged me and helped me find the key point of the problem accurately. At the same time, the tools of my colleagues also taught me a lot of valuable experience, let me benefit a lot. It can be said that my growth is inseparable from the help and support of Teacher Cai and colleagues. I have always been very grateful for this, and I am very fortunate to meet such good leaders and colleagues.

Good teachers and helpful friends who can be met but not sought are the most precious. Can you briefly introduce the current development process of the tool institute?
The electromagnetic strengthening technology developed by the tool has been applied in the industrial application of the machining tool, which has brought the benefits of reducing cost and increasing efficiency to the enterprise, and has also been praised and reported by the relevant enterprises. In addition to cutting tools, based on major national engineering applications, the Institute has been committed to improving the fatigue performance of key components such as aero-engine bearings, blades and connecting bolts of helicopter hub, improving service life and reliability, and providing a possible way to achieve high-performance manufacturing of national high-end basic components. It is hoped that through continuous research and efforts, cutting tools can make breakthrough application progress in national key industries.
Do you have any plans or small goals recently?
Recently, while maintaining the current work progress, I am planning to solve my personal problems. I hope I can find my partner in 2022.

Usually read some books and listen to music, relax, also have a lot of fun.
