[Practice Base Class Students Say] Special "Unexpected" "High-end Equipment Practice" Course

In order to improve the practical effect of professional practice links for professional degree postgraduates and innovate the organizational form of professional practice, starting from 2017, the Graduate School of Tsinghua University will incorporate the compulsory links of professional practice for postgraduates into the teaching system, offer professional practice base courses, and explore the curriculalization of professional practice links. The professional practice base courses already offered by the school include: "High-end Equipment Practice" offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in conjunction with Tianjin High-end Equipment Research Institute and China Car Qingdao Sifang, "Artificial Intelligence Practice" offered by Shenzhen International Graduate School in conjunction with Tencent, Shang Tang Technology and Ping An Technology, and "New Generation Information and Media Technology Practice" offered by Shenzhen International Graduate School in conjunction with Huawei. Zheng Jie, a student majoring in business administration from the School of Economics and Management, is one of the representatives of cross-disciplinary students participating in the 2021 summer "High-end Equipment Practice" course. She has obtained the Honor Certificate of Good Practice Project while excellently completing the requirements of all aspects of the practical course.
If you want to describe the experience of studying "High-end Equipment Practice" in the summer semester of 2021, for me, it can be summarized as one word-"Unexpected".

I didn't expect a good class. I happened to see this non-degree elective course in non-school of economics and management. The topic selection is close to the hot demand of the industry and has a rich content and tight schedule. With the mentality of giving it a try, I applied for training. As a result, I was lucky to pass the selection and started my study far beyond the expected period. The course runs through industry, university and research. The 8-week course arrangement allows us not only to delve into topics and carry out research, but also to get in touch with application companies, related industries and even competent departments. It is really a delicious and delicious feast. The content is full and the schedule is interesting. No matter the communication in the course or the summary after the class, we have always praised that the content is not rich but overflowing! Between the tense opening, middle and closing of the topic, there are constant discussions with the tutor and continuous competition with oneself. The weekend is decorated with colorful and "sour" courses in the series of innovative thinking training camp. Students remind each other to pay attention to "digestion" and don't live up to this feast.
I didn't think of a good question. In the course, I was specifically responsible for the topic of "Research on Shift2Rail Innovation Projects in Europe. With the work carried out, more and more feel the beauty of the subject! The research objects include scientific and exquisite organization, systematic and flexible management process, cutting-edge and complex technical system and large-scale comprehensive project team, which effectively and sustainably lead and support the integrated development of European rail transit. It has a deeper understanding of the significance of the subject, and has formed a research focus that matches the original intention of the subject and combines its own characteristics. Analyze the advanced reasons of the research object, refine the process model, summarize the decomposition process of its top-level planning to specific work plan, especially its "organized" scientific research and "standard" work at the height of the European Union, based on the rail transit industry.
Unexpected growth. The School of Economics and Management has always guided us to think more and ask ourselves "what to take away". A conversation, a book, a course, experience is the appearance, the key is to accumulate what. Study the course of "High-end Equipment Practice", from consulting "what" to focusing on analyzing "why", and finally thinking about "why why". This process of experiencing thinking, feeling changes and trying to "take away" is wonderful! In this course, I asked myself another question-"what to bring". After discussing with the project instructors and the teachers of the high-end equipment research institute, the knowledge structure of science and management and the experience of project management laid the foundation for me to undertake the project. The investment from interest and love and the habit of thinking and asking questions made the project evolve in this course. If you can "bring" a little bit to the course, it will definitely "take away" more from the course.
Thank you for the "high-end equipment practice" class, put bags, I believe I will often think of it in the future. Summer vacation in 2021 is extraordinary. Weight-bearing training is over and the new semester is embraced lightly. Grateful, blessed.
