On May 21, as one of the important events of the Fifth World Intelligence Congress, the 2021RoboCup Robot World Cup China Competition and the Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup Tianjin International Invitational Competition opened ceremoniously at the Airport Sports Center of Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone. More than 200 teams from more than 10 countries and regions, with a total of more than 500 people, competed through the "online and offline domestic and foreign" linkage event mode to jointly create the top event of the RoboCup system in China in 2021.

The 2021RoboCup Robot World Cup China Competition and the Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup Tianjin International Invitational Tournament are the first to gather in Tianjin. This event is hosted by Tianjin Municipal People's Government, Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup International Council, China Automation Society, RoboCup China Committee, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tsinghua University Tianjin High-end Equipment Research Institute, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Management Committee, China Society of Automation Robot Competition Working Committee, Tianjin Robot Industry Association.

At the opening ceremony, Dean Wang Jiadao delivered a speech and introduced the basic situation of the competition and the significance of the double competition gathering in Jinmen. He hoped that the competition would be used as a medium to promote multi-disciplinary cross-integration with the innovative model of "online and offline, domestic and foreign. Professor Zheng Zhiqiang, director of the Robot Competition Working Committee of the Chinese Society of Automation, said that the RoboCup Robot World Cup China is a top-level event in international contact. This first league match with the Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup Tianjin International Invitational has stimulated the innovative vitality of the RoboCup system. The degree of excitement is unprecedented. Zhou Changjiu, chairman of the Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup Council and vice chairman of the International Federation of Robot World Cup, and some RoboCup international directors also sent a speech video to congratulate all participating teams on the smooth opening of the competition. Participating players and referees representatives also took the stage to speak, solemn commitment.

"Our school has two teams participating in this competition, the small group and the humanoid group of the robot soccer competition. We have won four championships in international competitions, and we hope that this time we will play well and achieve excellent results." Chen Zhike, a member of the Zhejiang University team, told reporters that the professional watched the doorway and the layman watched the excitement. Take the small group of the football robot competition as an example. Each team sent 6 robots to the competition. The program has been compiled in advance. After the competition started, no one controlled it. It seems that they are 6 independent robots. In fact, it is a "brain" to calculate the actions of these 6 robots on the field. They cooperate very tacitly. "Small groups of robots are running around on the field. It is difficult for the audience to distinguish who is in the first team. I teach the audience a trick. It can be distinguished by the central color block on the top of the robot. The techniques and tactics of some internationally renowned football clubs are used in our game. It is very enjoyable." Chen Zhike said.

The competition was very popular, attracting teams from more than 10 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Russia, Iran, Brazil, Japan, Portugal, Singapore and Hong Kong, China. The organizing committee of the competition is also carefully planned. Not only the infirmary, robot maintenance room and other areas are set up on the spot, but also many volunteers in green T-shirts are on the spot to ensure the smooth progress of the competition. Today and tomorrow, the participating teams will compete fiercely at the Tianjin Airport Sports Center, presenting a gluttonous feast of robot duels.
