The Centennial Pioneer Guan Xiangying: Loyalty, for the Party and the Country
"Half of my life is difficult and difficult. Looking back on the south of the Yangtze River, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Guizhou left traces of war. Bi Shi served the people, grieved North China, Yan Qin Qi Jin cried and wailed." This is an elegiac couplet written by He Long and others, and the revolutionaries they mourn are Guan Xiangying.
Guan Xiangying was born in 1902 in Jinxian County, Liaoning Province (now Jinzhou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province). In 1922, he joined Dalian Taidong Daily and began to accept the influence of Marxism-Leninism under the influence of Communist Party members Li Zhenying and Chen people.
In April 1924, Guan Xiangying joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League. In May, he came to Shanghai, engaged in revolutionary work, and merged into Shanghai University for further study. At the end of the year, according to the arrangement of the organization, he went to Moscow to study. Before he left, he wrote to his uncle, "every man is responsible for the rise and fall of the world... I wish to run around all his life, exhaust his ability in case, save the people in Tu (Tu) charcoal, sacrifice his family, and fight to the death against the international imperialists. This nephew's ambition is also his only outlook on life." In January 1925, Guan Xiangying joined the Communist Party of China in Moscow.
After the outbreak of the May 30th Movement, Guan Xiangying returned from the Soviet Union and worked in the workers' movement and the Communist Youth League in Shanghai, Shandong and other places. In June 1928, he attended the Sixth Party Congress in Moscow and was elected as a member of the Central Committee. After the meeting, Guan Xiangying returned to China and moved to Shanghai, Wuhan and other places to engage in revolutionary work.
In 1931, Gu Shunzhang, an alternate member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and in charge of special science and technology work, was arrested in Wuhan and betrayed many party secrets. Guan Xiangying was unfortunately arrested in Shanghai. In prison, although he was tortured, he was always unyielding, clenching his teeth and insisting not to reveal his identity or reveal the party's secrets. Nearly eight months later, after the party organization actively rescued, he was released on bail.
After being released from prison, Guan Xiangying came to the revolutionary base area in western Hunan and Hubei, where he served as a member of the western Hunan and Hubei branch of the CPC Central Committee, chairman of the western Hunan and Hubei military commission, and political commissar of the Red Army, fighting side by side with he long. In 1934, at the Fengxiangxi Conference, Guan Xiangying severely criticized the "Left" errors that existed at the time. The meeting passed correct resolutions such as restoring the party organizations and political organs of the Red Army, stopping the elimination of counter-revolutionaries, and establishing the Qiandong base area. The Fengxiangxi Conference saved the endangered Red Army from the harm of "Left" errors. He Long and Guan Xiangying also understood each other, learned from each other's strengths, and complemented each other in the battle, creating senior cadres in the history of our party and our army. A shining example of sincere unity and long-term cooperation.
after the outbreak of the war of resistance against japan, guan xiangying was appointed political commissar of the eighth route army's 12th division. In order to implement the policy of "going deep behind enemy lines and carrying out guerrilla warfare independently" put forward by the CPC Central Committee, he and he long led their troops to cross the Yellow River eastward and went to Shanxi to persist in the War of Resistance in North China, which ignited the war of resistance against Japan in North China.
However, the long and difficult war environment seriously damaged Guan Xiangying's body. He was knocked down by serious illness due to overwork. Under the repeated urging of the Party Central Committee, he returned to Yan'an to recuperate in the autumn of 1941. In 1945, although he was unable to attend the Seventh National Congress of the Party due to illness, he was still elected as a member of the Central Committee at the meeting. On April 24, he was seriously ill and wrote a farewell letter to the Party Central Committee: "The whole party and the whole army should be like one person, closely united around the Central Committee led by Comrade Mao Zedong, and believe that our party and the Chinese revolution must be The final victory must be won." The words are filled with loyalty to the party and the revolution.
On July 21, 1946, Guan Xiangying died of illness in Yan'an at the age of 44. Until 5 minutes before the cessation of breathing, he still said in a weak voice: "It doesn't matter, I will live and continue to work for the party ......" The people have passed away, and the spirit will last forever! Mao Zedong wrote an inscription for him: "Be loyal, serve the party and the country, and Comrade Ying will not die." This is a tribute to his short and glorious life, and it is also the best memorial to his glorious revolutionary career.
