He Long: Follow the Party wholeheartedly

Blue and white color bucket with a cover for teacups, peony phoenix garlic bottles, blue and white porcelain pen wash ...... In Jiangxi Nanchang August 1 Uprising Memorial Hall, there are such a number of exquisite cultural relics, often attracted the audience to stop and watch.

The former owner of the cultural relics was the famous Marshal He Long. In July 1927, after He Long led the 20th Army of the National Revolutionary Army to Nanchang, the headquarters was set up in the then Hongdao Middle School. He Long is an army commander, and there are many treasures in some of his usual tea sets, pen washes and other living objects.

On July 28, 1927, the day after Zhou Enlai arrived in Nanchang, he came to Helong headquarters to inform him of the uprising plan. It was Zhou He's first meeting, and the uprising was the top secret of the Chinese Communist Party at the time. In the face of the party's trust, he long said: "I completely listen to the orders of the Communist Party, and I can do whatever the party wants me to do." Zhou Enlai immediately appointed He Long as the commander-in-chief of the uprising army in the name of the Committee of Former Enemies of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

After the Nanchang Uprising and before withdrawing from Nanchang, He Long gave the precious supplies he carried with him to Liu Pinggeng, the principal of Hongdao Middle School, on the one hand to express his gratitude; on the other hand, after the baptism of the Nanchang Uprising and the influence of the revolutionary spirit of the Communist Party of China, He Long was determined to change the old life of the past, share joys and sorrows with the soldiers, and jointly open up a new world of Chinese revolution.

In 1957, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Liu Pinggeng donated these items to the Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall.

In the memorial hall, there is also a precious cultural relic closely related to He Long. This is a party member registration form, and its registration object is He Long.

He Long was born as a peasant, and his sister was also a member of the Communist Party. The story of his "two kitchen knives making a revolution" was widely circulated. After taking part in the revolution, he long had the will to join the Communist Party of China very early.

In September 1927, when the Nanchang Uprising troops arrived in Ruijin, Zhou Yiqun and Tan Pingshan were the introducers at Ruijin Mianjiang Middle School, and Zhou Enlai was the witness. He Long's wish to join the party was finally realized. He completed the transformation from an old soldier to a communist fighter. This party member registration form, which carries He Long's firm revolutionary belief and urgent determination to join the party, has also become a precious exhibit in the memorial hall.

The new party member soon encountered the severe test of blood and fire, and the uprising army moving south from Nanchang was besieged and intercepted by the enemy all the way. On October 3, 1927, a group of hundreds of people from the leading organs of the Nanchang uprising arrived in Liusa Town, Puning County, Guangdong Province, and the former enemy Committee of the CPC Central Committee held an emergency meeting at a small temple by the roadside.

When the quicksand meeting was held, the uprising troops going south were seriously downsizing, but he long, who had just joined the party, was very firm. At the meeting, He Long made it clear: "I am unwilling, I will do it to the end. Let me go back to Xiangxi, I will make a comeback."

In the end, according to the instructions of the Party Central Committee, He Long broke through many obstacles and returned to western Hunan and Hubei from Shanghai in early 1928. He led the Jingjiang River cross-strait riot and the western Hunan uprising, and established the Red Second Army and the western Hunan and Hubei revolutionary base with Zhou Yiqun and Duan Dechang.
