Research Center for Advanced Energy Equipment Technology,founded on May 15th, 2015, is affiliated with Tianjin Research Institute for Advanced Equipment, Tsinghua University. Its major research field cover nuclear plant design, calculation and analysis, software service and technology support. The research center also conducts research for marine energy equipments. Under current situation of vigorously developing nuclear power in China, the research center focuses on nuclear power field and undertakes the outsourcing service contracts from CGNPC and CNNC.
Research Center for Advanced Energy Equipment Technology has a strong and highly experienced nuclear energy research team. The core members of the team include: 7 professors/associate professors and 1 research institute senior engineer, from Tsinghua University, Xiamen University, Northeast Petroleum University, whose research fields include mechanical structural design, mechanics, intensity check, fluid flow field Analysis and Thermal-Hydraulics etc. Currently, there are 21 designers and researchers in the team, and 80% of them has the master’s degree of the key universities in China.
Research Fields
Research Center focuses on nuclear power equipments and provide technology services for research institutes and commercial power groups in nuclear technology areas.
1.Technology consulting services for Small Modular Reactor design: Providing related design scheme, manufacturing process, calculation and analysis (nuclear physics, thermal-hydraulics, mechanics, etc.)
2.Spent fuel geological storage and middle/low level radioactive nuclear waste storage: The center has conducted research and design in these fields to propose engineering achievable schemes for national spent fuel storage through learning foreign advanced experience.
3.Digital nuclear power plant: Digital nuclear power plant is a virtual digital power plant which has an integrated operation logics. It can be applied in verifications for nuclear power construction, test, and several other functions.
Development Prospects
▶ The research center is undertaking service contracts with CGNPC and providing technology supports.
▶ The research center has participated in Spent fuel geological storage project. National investments in this area is over hundreds of billions RMB.
▶ The research center is cooperating with CNNC, to concentrate on 3D digital nuclear power for nuclear power projects under construction
▶ The research center has acquired software service authorization of Dassault, French. We can provide service for the software applications in Asia. There is wide market space for nuclear software services.
