The Research Center for Additive Manufacturing Technology and Engineering was established in September 2015, aimed to construct an industry-university-research collaborative innovation system and promote the development of additive manufacturing technology.

The director of the research center is Professor Feng Lin from Tsinghua University. The research group has been working on the metal 3D printing and biological 3D printing for more than 10 years. The group developed several additive manufacturing technologies and machines, including Electron Beam Selective Melting (EBSM), Low-temperature Deposition Manufacturing (LDM), 3-Dimensional Cell Controlled Assembly (3DCCA) etc. The research activities are always at the forefront of the field of additive manufacturing and have a high reputation at both domestic and abroad.
