On May 29, 2019, the Party Branch of the Tianjin High-end Equipment Research Institute of Tsinghua University (referred to as the "High-end Institute Branch") held a centralized learning meeting. Party members studied in-depth People's Daily and other front-page articles such as "No Challenge Can Stop China's Progress", and exchanged and interacted on the current situation and impact of the Sino-US trade war. At the same time, I learned related popular science information and a series of learning activities such as Dongli District Science Week during the theme party day activities.

On May 13, the People's Daily published a front-page article "No challenge can stop China's progress", and on May 18, the People's Daily published a front-page article "No force can stop the Chinese people from realizing their dreams." The content of the article involves Sino-US trade disputes. The Sino-US trade dispute is an important issue in Sino-US economic relations. It mainly occurs in two aspects: one is the export field where China has a comparative advantage; the other is the import and technical knowledge field where China does not have an advantage. Although the wind and rain are not enough to be feared, the Chinese side always believes that cooperation is the best choice, and only by earnestly following the principles and directions already established by both sides, strengthening communication, focusing on cooperation, and managing differences, can we promote the healthy and stable development of Sino-US economic and trade cooperation and bilateral relations.

Activity background

At the end of September 1987, the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to launch an annual "Science and Technology Promotion Week. From October 6 to 12, 1987, the first science and technology activity week in Tianjin was solemnly held. As of 2019, the science and technology week in Tianjin has been held for 33 consecutive times, and various districts have formed a good atmosphere for the wide popularization of science and technology in the year.

On the afternoon of May 21, the 33rd Science and Technology Week in Dongli District in 2019, "Intelligent Age, Strong Science and Technology District, and Global Science Popularization" was held in Dongli District Junliangcheng Middle School. Liu Wei, deputy secretary of the district party Committee, Lu Shuangying, vice chairman of the Tianjin Association for Science and Technology, Wu Guanghua, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the District People's Congress, Tian Xianyu, vice chairman of the CPPCC, and relevant leaders of the district committees, 2019 Dongli District Science Popularization Ambassador, principals of primary and secondary schools in Dongli District, science and technology counselors and contestants on behalf of nearly 300 people participated.
