Four "beards"

Zhou Enlai was once called "Hu Gong" because he had a beard ". This nickname was obtained when he was the head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Military Commission in Shanghai in 1928 when he was engaged in the party's underground work. At that time, because there were too many people who knew him in the society, except for special circumstances, Zhou Enlai strictly limited his time to go out before 7 am and after 6 pm. He has carefully studied the streets and lanes in Shanghai. He tries to walk less in the streets, wear more small alleys, and do not take trams or go to public places. Usually, he disguised himself as a merchant who could be seen everywhere in Shanghai, and later grew a long beard, which he kept during the Agrarian Revolutionary War. After the Xi'an Incident, when Zhou Enlai arrived in Xi'an to meet Zhang Xueliang, he still had a long beard. On the day of negotiating with Chiang Kai-shek, Zhang Xueliang suddenly found that Zhou Enlai's long beard was gone, so he asked in surprise: "General Zhou, I saw you had a beard a few days ago, but why is it missing today?" Zhou Enlai said happily, "We have won!"

Marshal He Long began to grow his beard at the age of 20 and 21 and was often trimmed. During the Great Revolution, the people of Sangzhi's hometown in western Hunan nicknamed him "Hu Zi" or "He Hu Zi". There is a folk song that sings like this: "Dark clouds hide the sun from the earth, and once they dissipate, they shine again. Suddenly I heard people everywhere making noise, and I really turned to my hometown." He Long likes others to call him "He Hu Zi". He felt kind when he heard this. When he was the commander of the army, the new guard called him the commander. He said to the guard, "Don't talk about the commander of the army, don't call the officer's name, it will make our relationship rusty. From today on, when I became my guard, I was called to congratulate my beard, or like the common people, I was called to congratulate my boss. Be easy, understand?" after the founding of New China, He Long still had a heroic beard and liked to smoke a big pipe, which was very powerful.

General Wang Zhen had railway work experience when he was young. In order to keep clean, he shaves every day. However, the beard is longer and longer, longer and denser. For fear of trouble, he simply grew his beard. In 1929, Wang Zhen went to his hometown to organize the SAR Committee and guerrillas, and even grow his hair and beard together. In 1946, Wang Zhen led the southward detachment back to Yan 'an. He vowed that if the team did not arrive in Yan 'an, he would not shave for a day. As a result, the beard grew longer and longer. When he arrived in Yan 'an, Wang Zhen's beard was already nearly a foot long. The return of Wang Zhen and his ministry was warmly welcomed by Mao Zedong and other leaders. When he went to see Mao Zedong with his long beard, he aroused Mao Zedong's curious inquiry. When he learned the reason, Mao Zedong gave Wang Zhen the nickname "Wang Hu Zi. In 1964, Mao Zedong went to the Ming Tombs to watch military exercises. When he saw Wang Zhen, he still called him "Beard".

General Sun Yi was nicknamed "Sun Hu Zi". Sun Yi's beard was grown at the age of 21. At that time, he was a soldier in the Northwest Army. After being injured in a battle, he was bedridden for more than two months and his beard grew for more than two months. After the injury, Sun Yi grew a beard. Soon after joining the Red Army, the Red Army stipulated that no beard should be kept, and Sun Yi was also locked up for this. Later, Sun Yi met Zhu De and Liu Bocheng on the marching road, and explained to the two leaders, "When a person is in danger, the oil on his body runs away and the flesh falls off, so the beard does not run away, but keeps growing up. The beard's righteousness is like a person's spirit, which cannot be shaved." After hearing this, Zhu De told Sun Yi to "keep this beard well". When Sun Yi worked at the Red Army School, the school held theatrical performances on every major festival. On one occasion, Zhao Pinsan, the pioneer of the drama movement in the Soviet area and the director of the school club, compiled a program "Catch the enemy commander alive", because the enemy commander Chen Shiji in the play was designed to wear a moustache, which made it difficult for the director to choose actors. Just then, Comrade Li Bozhao suddenly remembered Sun Yi and recommend him to the director. As a result, Sun Yi appeared on stage for the first time in his life. The performance was very successful and was praised by the comrades. Zhao Pinsan said to Sun Yi, "You must not shave off your beard. You will be asked for the next show!" After hearing this, Sun Yi kept the beard in a justifiable way.
