Robot Technology Helps Urban Rail Transit Construction
On June 23, 2017, Professor Chen Ken, director of the Institute of Robotics and Automation equipment Engineering, led a team of technicians to have a technical exchange with Beijing China Railway Fangshan Bridge Co., Ltd. (referred to as "China Railway Company"). The two sides discussed the production process of the reinforcement cage of the subway shield segment, and reached a consensus on the robot automation of the reinforcement cage shaping and welding process.
China Railway Company reflects that in the production process, the labor intensity of the steel cage shaping manual operation is high, the specifications are not standardized, the quality of the manual operation is unstable, the workload is large, and the labor intensity is high in the welding assembly process. We put forward the overall scheme of using robot operation to realize automatic production.
It is understood that there is a large demand for shield segments in the process of urban rail transit construction, of which the steel cage is the core skeleton of the segment. The use of robot automatic production is expected to reduce labor by more than 50%, greatly reduce the company's labor costs, and also improve the quality of products. The successful application of this technology in China Railway Corporation will also promote the vigorous promotion of robots in the construction of national rail transit.
