Tsinghua University interdisciplinary, multi-department graduate students to study in our college practice

On December 2, the temperature dropped sharply, but the enthusiasm of Tsinghua students for learning did not decrease. It was organized by the School of Materials, Tsinghua University, from the School of Materials, School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Department of Chemistry, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electronic Engineering, Department of Energy and Power Engineering, etc. Twenty-five graduate students from different departments came to the High-end Equipment Research Institute of Tsinghua University (referred to as the "High-end Institute") for practical study. This practical activity is divided into three parts: a visit to the exhibition hall of the high-end hospital, a visit to the Tianjin Machine Tool Museum and a discussion and exchange. Fan Jing, deputy director of the hospital affairs department of the high-end hospital, Chen He, deputy director of the Institute of Advanced Energy Equipment Technology, and Yin Wei, director of the Friction and Lubrication Research Office of Rail Transit, participated in the reception and held discussions with students.

The students and their party visited the exhibition hall of the high-end hospital and systematically learned about the historical evolution and operation mechanism of the high-end hospital, the mode of dispatching the hospital originated from Tsinghua, and the platform purpose of "Tsinghua Science and Technology Serving the Society. After entering the achievement exhibition area, the students were immediately attracted by the exhibits on display. The person in charge of the Enterprise Publicity Office explained the scientific research technology and industrialization achievements of the 34 research teams of our college to the students one by one, and explained the research and development process and industrial market application behind the achievements to the students. The students were immersed in the explanation, with high interest, active thinking, and frequent questions. The visit process formed a positive and good interaction, which stimulated the students' enthusiasm for R & D and innovation.

After the break, the students came to visit the Tianjin Machine Tool Museum. The museum displays more than 100 machines made in more than a dozen national cellars such as Switzerland, Germany, the United States, and the former Soviet Union, as well as more than 500 pieces of civilian machinery such as old sewing machines and old telephones. With the explanation of the staff, the students feel the purity and atmosphere of the beauty of industry as if they were traveling through time and space. The milling machine used by Tianjin Seagull Watch Factory to manufacture the first watch, the "200-year-old" shoe sewing machine and the world's earliest printing machine all make students feel the industrial transformation, the progress of science and technology and the development of machinery manufacturing industry.

The students came to the high-end college with questions. At the subsequent symposium, Chen He, deputy director of the Advanced Energy Equipment Technology Research Institute, and Yin Wei, director of the Rail Transit Friction and Lubrication Research Office, discussed the research and development direction of their respective teams. The R & D content was professionally introduced, and the latest development and a series of results achieved were shared with the students, so that the students have a deeper understanding of application research and development and market services in this field. Subsequently, the students asked questions about the talent introduction policy, the operation mode of high-end colleges, the mode of achievement transformation, and the industrial layout and future development trend of the new energy industry and additive manufacturing research field. Fan Jing's profound and simple answer gave the students a wonderful lesson.
