Tianjin North Network News: A few days ago, Tianjin Qingyan Zhibeam Technology Co., Ltd., an incubator of Tianjin High-end Equipment Research Institute of Tsinghua University, released its latest generation of open source electron beam metal 3D printer QbeamLab, which is the first in China.

Lin Feng, deputy director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Tsinghua University, told the "Jinyun" news reporter: "Electron beam selective melting (EBSM) metal 3D printing, due to the use of electron beam as an energy source, in a high vacuum environment by melting metal powder layer by layer to manufacture solid parts. Due to the high power of the electron beam and the high energy absorption rate of the material to the electron beam, EBSM technology has the characteristics of high density of parts, low oxygen content, low thermal stress, not easy to deform and crack, low price of powder consumables, and high printing efficiency. It has unique advantages and application value in 3D printing of metal materials, especially refractory and difficult-to-process metal materials, and is widely used in orthopedic medicine, aerospace and other fields."

This time, the open source electron beam metal 3D printer QbeamLab launched by Zhizhang Technology has made up for this gap. Ltd, said, "QbeamLab equipment has just been launched with four orders, including well-known enterprises and vocational colleges such as China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and Tianjin Vocational University.
