  Research Team

The adaptive optics team led by Professor Huang Lei from the Department of Fine Instrument of Tsinghua University is a team with the spirit of exploration and innovation. It has undertaken more than ten scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation. More than 20 patents have been granted. Won 1 second prize of the Ministry of Education, and 1 second prize of the Ministry of Education for Technical Invention.

The research team has achieved important results in the frontiers of science and technology development in the field of optoelectronic technology (including basic scientific exploration, applied basic research, and system technology research and development). The main core technology is embodied in the photoelectric system technology with large aperture deformable mirror technology as the core, including the photoelectric system technology with deformable mirror as the core technology: mirror precision machining and compensation technology, mirror surface precision control and aberration compensation technology, mirror stress control and release technology, high-precision adaptive wavefront control technology, high-precision light field imaging distortion detection technology and so on.

Large aperture deformable mirror technology

High-precision deformable mirror system technology is a hot spot in the field of optoelectronic technology, and is the key core technology of modern large-scale optical systems and devices. Its role is to achieve high-precision real-time correction of optical distortion through nano-scale precision aberration control of ultra-thin active mirrors.

The research team has independent intellectual property rights of optoelectronic system technology, which meets the urgent needs of high-precision wavefront control of optoelectronic systems. It can be widely used in astronomical observation, high-resolution/microscopic imaging, telecommunications, human eye medical, terminal display equipment and other fields. It is the core technology that determines the performance of the system, and has broad application prospects and considerable social and economic benefits.
