In September 2015, the Institute of Additive Manufacturing Technology and Engineering of Tianjin High-end Equipment Research Institute of Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as "Additive Manufacturing Institute") was established to build an industry-university-research collaborative innovation system and promote the development of additive manufacturing technology.
The director is Professor Lin Feng, doctoral supervisor of Tsinghua University. His research team has long been engaged in the development of additive manufacturing (3D printing) equipment and technology, and has developed additive manufacturing technologies and equipment such as electron beam selective melting (EBSM), low temperature deposition manufacturing (LDM) and three-dimensional cell controlled assembly (3DCCA). The team currently has 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 2 doctors, and more than 10 engineers with bachelor's degree or above.
Lin Feng is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Tsinghua University. Vice Chairman of the Rapid Prototyping Technology Committee of the Special Processing Society of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society.
