Inner-Party Statistical Communique of the Communist Party of China

As of December 31, 2023, the total number of members of the Communist Party of China was 99.185 million, a net increase of 1.144 million from the end of 2022, an increase of 1.2.
The Communist Party of China now has 5.176 million grassroots organizations, a net increase of 111000 over the end of 2022, an increase of 2.2. Among them, there are 298000 grass-roots party committees, 325000 general branches and 4.554 million branches.
Situation of 1. Party Members
Gender, nationality and educational background of Party members. there are 30.185 million women party members, accounting for 30.4 percent of the total number of party members. There are 7.592 million ethnic minority party members, accounting for 7.7 per cent. There are 55.786 million party members with college education or above, accounting for 56.2 per cent.
The age of the party members. There are 12.412 million party members aged 30 and below, 11.196 million party members aged 31 to 35, 10.864 million party members aged 36 to 40, 9.459 million party members aged 41 to 45, 9.071 million party members aged 46 to 50, 9.405 million party members aged 51 to 55, 8.907 million party members aged 56 to 60, and 27.872 million party members aged 61 and above.
Party membership time. 68000 who joined the party before the founding of New China, 12.863 million who joined the party after the founding of New China to the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party, 60.142 million who joined the party after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party to the 18th National Congress of the Party, 26.112 million who joined the party since the 18th National Congress of the Party.

There are 6.643 million workers (skilled workers), 26.075 million farmers, animal husbandry and fishermen, 16.19 million professional and technical personnel of enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 11.453 million managers of enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 7.645 million staff of party and government organs, 2.771 million students, 7.764 million other professionals and 20.644 million retirees.
2. development of party members
In 2023, a total of 2.408 million party members will be recruited.
The gender, nationality, age and educational background of the party members to be recruited. 1.105 million female party members, or 45.9 per cent, were recruited. 252000 minority party members, or 10.5 per cent, were recruited. The number of party members aged 35 and below is 1.983 million, accounting for 82.4 per cent. 1.28 million party members, or 53.1 per cent, have been recruited with a college degree or above.
Career development of party members. There are 158000 workers (skilled workers), 375000 farmers, animal husbandry and fishermen, 351000 professional and technical personnel of enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 267000 managers of enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 119000 staff of party and government organs, 919000 students and 218000 other professionals. In the production, work front line development party members 1.276 million.
3. inner-party commendation
In 2023, party organizations at all levels across the country commended 138000 advanced grassroots party organizations, 693000 outstanding party members, and 199000 outstanding party workers. In the whole year, 795000 commemorative medals of "50 years of glory in the party" were awarded.
4. Application for Party Membership
By the end of 2023, there were 20.98 million applicants and 10.547 million activists nationwide.
5. Party organizations
local party committees. There are 3199 local Party committees at all levels throughout the country. Among them, there are 31 provincial (district and municipal) committees, 397 municipal (prefecture) committees and 2771 county (city, district and banner) committees.
Party organizations in urban streets, townships, communities and administrative villages. Party organizations have been established in 9125 urban streets, 29620 townships, 119437 communities and 488959 administrative villages, with a coverage rate of more than 99.9 per cent.
Party organizations in government organs, institutions, enterprises and social organizations. There are 771000 grass-roots party organizations in public institutions, 997000 grass-roots party organizations in public institutions, 1.6 million grass-roots party organizations in enterprises and 183000 grass-roots party organizations in social organizations.
